Ping test - connection response
We will measure how quickly the nearest Cloudflare network server responds to your request. We will perform 15 measurements, discard the first three as connection warm-up, and calculate the minimum, average, and response fluctuation (jitter) from the remaining ones.

The ping test measures only latency. A complete picture of the connection, download, upload and latency together, is provided by the internet speed test over the independent M-Lab network.
Spustit test rychlostiHonest methodology
This test measures HTTP response to the nearest Cloudflare edge server, i.e. the same location that also serves katalogisp.cz. It is not the same as a classic ICMP ping to a specific game server, VoIP switchboard or other destination you actually connect to; the real response to it may differ (usually higher, because Cloudflare edge servers are often closer). Treat the result as a lower estimate of how quickly your connection responds to the nearest point on the internet, not as an exact response to a specific game or service.
For response measured directly within the independent M-Lab network (RTT to the actual measurement server, not just to a CDN edge point), use internet speed test - it calculates response (ping) as part of the download measurement via the NDT7 protocol.
What the measured number means
- Under 20 ms - excellent response, ideal for online gaming and voice/video calls.
- 20-50 ms - good response, normal gaming and video calls should work without problems.
- 50-100 ms - noticeable response, may already be problematic for faster online games or calls.
- Over 100 ms - high latency, a problem mainly for online gaming and voice/video calls.
Vysoké jitter is typically more problematic than higher latency itself - it causes choppy, irregular delays in calls and games.
